Confident and focused, Atak One - born Eric Johanson on March 4, 1979 - believes that opportunity and success in the music business is now within his reach. However, the road to get to this point in his career has not been easy. As a teenager, this Peoria, Ill., kid packed up his bags and headed for Denver where he now resides. Growing up in the new city proved to be rough and Atak dealt every day with inner city struggles including losing his best friend in a fatal shooting where Atak was also shot twice, once in the face. Westword featured Atak's shooting as the front page article in January of 2006. Now, 32 years old, and a proud father of two, Atak has put all the negativity behind him and is completly focused on his future in music business - the one thing that has helped Atak through the years. With 10 years of recording experience and three solo albums on his resume, Atak believes he is finally making the music the way he wants it to sound. "Listen to my Demo," Atak’s fourth solo album dropping summer of 2011, is definitely going to be proof of just that. Countless local underground showcases, numerous big shows, many battles and stage appearances later, Atak is now more ready than ever to take his career to the next level. He has shared the stage with big names such as lil Skrappy, Chingo Bling, Lighter Shade of Brown, Rappin 4 Tay, Young Buck, 2 Pac's Outlaws, Baby Bash, Gorrila Zo, Slim formerly of 112 and lil Rob. Hip hop magazine Undastream gave rave reviews to Atak’s last solo release, "The Weights Over." The new Album “Listen 2 My Demo” will be released online June 2011. Atak 1 has recently relocated to Atlanta, GA and has received a well deserved welcome.
